Classique Plastics manufactures a versatile range of components and products in various materials. They have been pioneers in Aquariums – from Kelly Tarltons to far-flung places like Thailand and Russia. They also make moulds for other manufacturers to produce kayaks, spa pools, and other items.
Krissy Moody, CNC Router Operator, tells us how Heliner has enabled them to achieve reliable, hassle-free production after having problems in the past.
A step up in reliability
“Before I joined the company, the previous CNC router had problems starting and was causing too much downtime – a manufacturer’s headache.
Our two Heliner machines, with 3m and 5m long beds, have been a real improvement. They are straightforward to run once you’ve learned the operating system. So, a bit of education is required.”
Unattended overnight runs with no qualms
“We turn the routers on, warm them up, and away they go all day. They just don’t stop.
We’re so confident with them now, that sometimes we even run them all night unmanned with no problems.”
All the bits we need
“For new manufacturing runs, we can order all the accessories we need with the right advice from James. He usually supplies the parts himself or occasionally puts us onto another supplier to get them from.
So it’s a seamless and comprehensive service, covering all our requirements.”
On-call assistance is reassuring
“We have in-house engineers to support us, so we only need to go to James if things get beyond their ability. That hasn’t happened much, with hardly any problems other than minor things such as a cable tray repair.
Typically, we’ve no sooner contacted James than he’s got the answers for us or shows us a video from the factory, or visits us if necessary.
He’s always very helpful and nothing is too hard.”

“The precision engineering of the machines means we come out with quality components and products with a nice finish.
This also means we can make moulds and plugs with finely finished surfaces to make products with corresponding quality.”
